Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP (NYSE: KMP) said Thursday that its crude oil and condensate pipeline is in service to deliver to the Houston Ship Channel.
The $215 million pipeline, composed of 65 miles of new-build construction and 113 miles of converted natural gas pipelines, begins in the Eagle Ford Shale of South Texas to transport crude oil and condensate to refineries, petrochemical plants and docks along the Texas Gulf Coast. The pipeline has transport capacity of 300,000 barrels per day.
Including this project and other joint ventures, the Houston-based pipeline giant has committed more than $800 million to Eagle Ford investments, which include Eagle Ford Gathering LLC, EagleHawk Field Services LLC and the Camino Real Gathering System.
Additionally, the new crude and condensate pipeline will tie in to Kinder Morgan?s planned petroleum processing plant near its Galena Park terminal on the Houston Ship Channel.
"We are pleased to offer Eagle Ford producers safe, reliable and efficient pipeline service to the Texas Gulf Coast," Tom Bannigan, Kinder Morgan?s products pipeline president, said in a statement.
