Dean Bailey says he's not in the mix for the vacant head coaching position at AFL club Port Adelaide.
Bailey was sacked as Melbourne coach last season, a club he joined after six seasons as an assistant at Port.
Bailey this season joined the Adelaide Crows as a strategy and innovation coach, after Port were believed to have offered him a similar role.
But as Port continue hunting an experienced coach to appoint by the end of the month, Bailey said he wasn't running in a field headed by Rodney Eade and axed Carlton coach Brett Ratten.
"I haven't been called, I don't expect to be called," Bailey told reporters on Friday of the Port job.
Bailey said was "absolutely, thoroughly" enjoying his new role at the Crows supporting first-year coach Brenton Sanderson and his assistants.
"I just quietly go about what I'm expected to do and I do whatever I can," he said.
"Our assistant coaches have been outstanding during the year, from a development point of view all the way through to their roles on game day and during the week.
"They have been terrific and the coaching group works really well together.
"My role is to support them, do whatever Sando wants me to do, and assist him wherever I can - and whatever it is he wants me to do, I will do."
