New Android apps worth downloading: eBay Now, Facebook update, Kavinsky

Today's first app worth downloading brings you products from local stores super-fast. It's eBay Now, and it's designed to get you delivery of whatever you need within an hour of your ordering it, provided you live in one of the areas it covers. We've also got an update to Facebook that adds some user interface improvements for Android users, and Kavinsky, an old-school brawler with a story and soundtrack that's based on the latest album by electronic music artist Kavinsky.

eBay NowWhat?s it about? Buy items through your Android device and have them delivered within about an hour with eBay's latest mobile venture, eBay Now.

What?s cool? The ?now? in eBay Now isn't figurative, it's actually pretty literal. The app makes it possible to buy products and have the orders fulfilled by local stores near you, allowing you to get what you're looking for delivered immediately ? usually with your items arriving within about an hour. Through its various partnerships, eBay Now makes products available from stores such as Urban Outfitters, Target, Walgreens and more, and delivery is only $5 on anything. You can also have items delivered wherever you want, be it your house, your work, or what have you.

Who?s it for? If you're looking for quick shopping and delivery, eBay Now is for you ? but be aware that right now, it's only available in San Jose, San Francisco and parts of New York City, although eBay says that more markets are on the way.

What?s it like? Don't forget to grab the original eBay app, and RedLaser, a bar code scanner that lets you compare online prices with local shops.

FacebookWhat?s it about? Access the uber-popular social network Facebook from your mobile device with the Android-optimized app.

What?s cool? If you haven't checked out the official Facebook app by now, you're falling pretty far behind the times in terms of Android apps. The Facebook app packs a ton of useful conveniences for users of the social network, like notifications when users comment or ?like? various posts, widgets for your device's home screen, Messenger compatibility that lets you send texts, photos and group chats to other users, and more. The latest update to Facebook adds some major user interface improvements, like the ability to swipe left and right to access different features, the ability to add News Feed stories in private messages to other users, and additional compatibility with Facebook Home.

Who?s it for? If you use Facebook on the web, get the Android app.

What?s it like? Also worth trying is Facebook Home, the home screen experience that lets you access all of Facebook's features without the necessity of opening the app.

KavinskyWhat?s it about? Take to the streets of Los Angeles and fight off bad guys with martial arts and lots of other stuff in Kavinsky, a game based on the latest record of the electronic music artist by the same name.

What?s cool? Set to Kavinsky's music and based on his latest album, Outrun, Kavinsky is part brawler and part racer. Players take on the role of the titular character, fighting through LA with fighting game skill that'll remind plenty of players of the 16-bit era of arcade-style action games. You'll also be able to find weapons to use against enemy, and face off against tough bosses along the way, as well. There are also driving levels in which you'll jump behind the wheel of Kavinsky's car and race through the streets of the city.

Who?s it for? Players who enjoy arcade titles and fans of Kavinsky's work will have a great time here.

What?s it like? You might also check out Call of Mini: Brawlers and Combo Crew for similar experiences.
