Luanda ? The National Assembly (Angolan Parliament) Friday in Luanda approved the Bill on the Legal Regime on Issue and Management of Direct and Indirect Debt, with 147 votes in favour eight against and two abstentions.
This was during a plenary session in which the document was presented by the Finance minister, Armando Manuel.
The law thoroughly focuses on the guarantees and handling of contingent liabilities in ensuring the marshalling of external and internal resources of public companies, public institutes and of societies of public capitals, within the limits of budgetary discipline.
On the occasion, the minister said the new law might create a new dynamics in the management and mission of the direct and indirect public debt.
On the other hand, during the same session, the MPs approved with 143 votes in favour, two against and three abstentions, the bill on the constitution and composition of the national groups of friendship and solidarity of the National Assembly interparliamentary group.
The applications for naturalisation of the US basketball player, Reggie Moore (32) and his Argentine roller hockey colleague, Martin Ernesto Pavero (36), were also passed with 146 votes in favour, none against and two abstentions.
Meanwhile, the ruling MPLA bench rejected as a plagiarism the Bill on Public Funds submitted by the opposition coalition CASA-CE, that however got full support from the opposition with 35 votes.
The session that removed from the agenda the final voting of the Bill on Private Security Firms, was chaired by the National Assembly speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
